  •   Participation is open to any interested youth.
  •   Tryouts or demonstration of skills is not required for participation.

Spring Season: Select

The Select Program was established to provide an additional opportunity for players who wish to improve their softball skills beyond the regular league season but who have not yet reached the JO  “A” Classification skill level. This program is for 10U through 14U players who wish to improve their softball skills and thereby benefit themselves as well as their league. The Select Program will be in effect January 1 through March 31 of the current season.

Spring Season: All-Stars

Corona Girls Softball is proud to offer a highly successful and competitive all-star program.  Our All-Star teams are designated ASA Class "B", which is the highest designated level for Recreational Softball Leagues.  Our All-Star program competes at sanctioned tournaments throughout the greater Southern California area, and occasionally travels outside of our local area and/or State to compete at the National level.
CGSA fosters a reputation for excellence.  We are proud of our players, coaches and managers whom consistently compete at the highest level and represent the community with grace and sportsmanship.  Our Recreational program has fueled the success of our All-Star Teams, but it is important to note that the All-Star program is separate from the Recreational Program.

Fall Season: Recreational

Fall season recreational follows the same guidelines as Spring season recreational.  Our main goal for the season is development; it is non-competitive and we do not rank our teams during the season with exception to tournaments/scrimmages.  CGSA also offers clinics to aid in development of the players.

Fall Season: Select

Fall Select teams follow the same guidelines as the Spring season and are available based on volunteer managers and coaches.

We are required by ASA to conduct a background check on all volunteers.  The fee for background checks varies and will be the responsibility of the volunteer.  The fee covers our expense for conducting the background check and for making of badges.  Our ASA insurance policy also requires that all volunteers must receive certification.

11-K

Question:

I want to be a “Team Parent” do I need to submit a volunteer application and fee?

Answer:

Yes, the “Team Parent” is required to have a background check conducted.  One practical example is that all Managers will ask a “Team Parent” to walk your child to the restroom and make sure that she returns safely during practice and games.   A “Team Parent” is also allowed to be present in the dug out.  Another typical responsibility is for the “Team Parent” to administer basic first aid to players during a game.   This is usually limited to applying band-aids to cuts and scrapes or ice to bruises.  Only approved ASA certified personnel are allowed in the dug out.
